10th Annual Promise of Nursing Celebration to Honor Arizona Nurses May 4, 2012

Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson and Brookline College, the Arizona Nurses Foundation is kicking off National Nurses Week with the 10th annual Promise of Nursing for Arizona. This event will honor and thank Arizona nurses for the great work they do and raise money to provide Arizona students with nursing scholarships.

This year’s luncheon event will include guest speakers and engaging presentations including inspiring keynote speaker Jason Schecterle. Schechterle, a Phoenix police officer, will share his story and the inspiration that allowed him to persevere after being struck by a fast-moving vehicle that sent his car into flames leaving him with 3rd and 4th degree burns on 50 percent of his body.

This year’s event will also pay a special tribute to Tucson nurses and community members affected by the January 2011 “Congress on Your Corner” Tucson shooting.
