2-day National Workshop on Cloud Computing April 1, 2010

===About the workshop===
Cloud computing has recently emerged in the IT industry. Several IT vendors are promising to offer storage, application and computation hosting services, and provide coverage in several continents, offering Service-Level Agreements (SLA) backed performance and uptime promises for their services. While these ‘clouds’ are the natural evolution of traditional clusters and data centers, they are distinguished by following a ‘utility’ pricing model where customers are charged based on their utilization of computational resources, storage and transfer of data. As this paradigm is rapidly becoming popular with businesses, it is essential to expose the technology trends to research scholars and practitioners. Further, cloud computing opens up a whole new range of challenges related to developing scalable distributed applications

===Objective:===
This workshop intends to provide the participants, the technological trends as well as the research issues pertaining to this exciting new paradigm. The workshop will also demonstrate how specific cloud services such as AWS can be practically used for running applications.

===Topics to be covered:===
1. Introduction to cloud computing
2. Amazon Web Services
3. Architecting Cloud Applications,
4. Hands on session on Amazon Web Services tools
5. Introduction to Hadoop and Mapreduce
6. Demo Session on Execution of Hadoop Jobs and
7. Middleware for Cloud.

PG Students : Rs.300/-

Faculty, Research scholars(Full/Part time) and PG students from Engineering Colleges.Number of participants is restricted to 30 on first come first served basis.
