On Sunday, September 9, 2007, Lynn and Don Zergebel, of East Islip, will host an outdoor cocktail buffet to help raise money for Hospice Care Network. This event will honor one of Long Island’s prominent couples, Catherin and Fred Romito, owners of the East Islip Lumber Company.
The Romito’s have devoted much of their time and philanthropic support to their local community as well as many organizations throughout Long Island. Mr. Romito has been a member of Our Lady of Consolation’s Board of Trustees, the United Cerebral Palsy of Suffolk County and the Children’s Development Center. Mr. Romito was awarded the Northeast Retail Lumberman’s Association and the Long Island Lumber Association’s “Lumber Person of the Year” for outstanding service to the associations and the community. In 2003, Mr. Romito was honored as PAL of Suffolk County’s “Man of the Year”.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Romito is active in the local community. She served as a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Bay Shore/Brightwaters Guild for ten years and was a past Ambassador-at-Large for the Bay Shore Summit Council. Mrs. Romito also served on the Bay Shore Beautification society.
The fundraiser will feature buffet stations catered by the Irish Coffee Pub, an open bar, entertainment, silent auction, raffles and $10,000 super cash raffle. This event will be held from 2pm to 5pm and ticket prices are $60 prepaid and $70 at the door.
