Black Hills State University will host the 28th Annual Lakota Omniciye Wacipi (powwow) April 16-18 at the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center Field House in conjunction with American Indian Awareness Week that will take place on campus April 11-18.

This year’s theme is “Let the Wisdom from the Past, Be the Vision for the Future.” This year’s celebration kicks off Monday, April 11 at noon with a presentation on Navajo (Dine’) Women in Jonas Hall room 107. There will also be a social in the Center for American Indian Studies, Jonas Hall room 103, that afternoon.
