Virginia’s Community Colleges presents its fourth annual Great Expectations Education Forum. The forum, which is open to the public, will focus on issues in higher education for foster youth. Grammy award-winner Richard Leigh, a former foster youth and Virginia Community College graduate, will keynote and perform. Joining Leigh will be former First Lady Anne Holton, a long-standing advocate for foster youth, who will moderate a panel discussion with youth, their Great Expectations coaches and other supporters and stakeholders.
The Great Expectations program, currently operating in more than half of Virginia’s 23 community colleges, works to increase the number of foster youth who enroll in and complete a college or workforce training program. The program is a signature initiative of the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education (VFCCE).
