Anchored by Craftproducers Summer Art and Craft Festival, the weekend is loaded with fun-filled activities for the entire family. The Art & Craft tent will host 150 jury-selected artists and artisans. The exhibitors will display and sell wonderful products that they create, design and make. In an age dominated by globally produced mass goods, the artists are “locals” who generate handmade work and produce it in a sustainable manner. From the utilitarian coffee mug to the one of a kind kinetic metal sculpture, the artist/exhibitors offer a wide range of pottery, blown and stained glass, paintings, photography, leather, wood, furniture, clothing, metal, jewelry, and specialty foods and products.
In one complete section of the majestic tent, Helen Day Art Center will host ART FOR ART’S SAKE, which is a visual feast of 2D artists including painters, print makers, photographers, and other 2D artists.
Beyond being a fabulous Art Festival, the NEW TASTE OF STOWE ARTS FESTIVAL embraces the culinary arts. Stowe area restaurants serve tastes from their menus in a special section of the Dining Tent from 11-3 on Sunday. We expect a dozen or so chefs presenting small bites of their well known special creations. Tickets will be sold by the Helen day Art Center and proceeds from the Taste of Stowe benefit Helen Day.
At this year’s event, wines will be offered in tasting glasses as part of a food/wine pairing.
On Friday and Saturday Chef Claudine from Chez Claudine will actually roast a Vermont organic pig. She will serve it along with organic sausage sandwiches, cole slaw, potato salad, etc. Famous Ahli Baba from Burlington will serve more delicious food including burgers, dogs, fries, falafel, chicken wraps, Greek salad, and more.
Man cannot live by food alone so there is a wine and beer tent. Non alcoholic beverages are also available including fresh lemonade, water, soda pop, and locally brewed soda.
