In celebration of a half century of generosity the Monterey Museum of Art presents 50/fifty, an exhibition of recent gifts to the collection.
The exhibition encompasses paintings, works on paper and ceramics. Extraordinary examples of early California painting (including works by John O’Shea, William F. Ritschel, Thaddeus Welch and Sidney Yard), modern photography (including works by Ansel Adams, Yousuf Karsh, Imogen Cunningham and W. Eugene Smith), modern and contemporary art (including Joan Savo, Kenjilo Nanao, Johnny Apodaca and Barry Masteller), and exquisite examples of contemporary Japanese pottery are highlights of the exhibition.
