GM Eugene Perelshteyn, currently rated 2606, and ranked 17th in the country, is truly one of the rising chess stars in the United States. A few of Grandmaster Perelshteyn’s achievements include being the 2006 Foxwoods Open co-champ, 2006 Atlantic Open Champion, and 2007 Spice Cup Champion, a strong tournament held at the Texas Tech University in Lubbock (Texas), United States.
Eugene Perelshteyn's fighting spirit and wide range of chess skills shined at the 2006 Foxwoods Open, when Eugene tied for first and earned his final GM norm. He won a complicated game against Mikhalevski that he analyzed for Chess Life Magazine.
Eugene is the co-author of the well received opening books Chess Openings for White, Explained (reviewed by Pete Tamburro in Chess Life Magazine) and Chess Openings for Black, Explained. Autographed copies of these books will be available for purchase at the Exhibition.
