Celebrate the life and work of Osip Mandelstam, one of the foremost Russian poets of the twentieth century, at the closing night of the 30th Annual Jewish Book Fair.
The story of Mandelstam, renowned poet and non-conformist whose anti-Stalin poetry eventually led to his arrest and death in 1934, is eloquently retold in Rafi Aaron’s newly released book of poems Surviving the Censor, The Unspoken Words of Osip Mandelstam.
Rafi will read his poems on Mandelstam set against a backdrop of music provided by Daniel Domb, Canada’s pre-eminent cellist and Carey Domb on guitar. Mandelstam's poems will also be read in Russian.
