Are you a young person (18 to 25) looking to get involved in your community?
Join a Citizens League action group.
Three action groups will be formed to address the issues of poverty, energy and the environment, and public leadership.
What you'll do:
* Frame a specific question in your topic area
* Learn about the question
* Make a plan to address the question
* Put that plan into place
What you'll get:
* Funding to complete your project
* On-the-job training on organizing skills
* Connections with other young leaders
* Relationships with established civic leaders
At the kickoff event, we'll hear a little about the project from organizers then break down into groups and start to talk about what issue we want to tackle. We'll be joined by experts in each area to help guide our conversations as groups narrow their focus.
With:
Gary Cunningham, CEO of NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center
Jean King, communications consultant, worked with Governors LeVander and Quie
Sean Kershaw, executive director of the Citizens League
