African Music & Dance May 1, 2011

The University of Virginia African Music and Dance Ensemble under the direction of Michelle Kisliuk will present a free concert on Sunday, May 1st, 2011 at 7pm in Old Cabell Hall. The African Music and Dance Ensemble explores traditional music and dance forms from West Africa (Ghana, Togo) and Central Africa (BaAka pygmies). Directed by Associate Professor and ethnomusicologist Michelle Kisliuk, the ensemble holds several performances a year, including outreach events in the Charlottesville community.
