The Al Gold Photography Gallery is a rotating photography exhibit that is dedicated to presenting various culturally inclusive exhibitions depicting Atlantic City history. Al Gold was born in Philadelphia in 1902 and came to Atlantic City for his health. His foray in photography began in 1921 when he photographed the first Miss America pageant. His photographic skills became widely known and in 1939 he was appointed Atlantic City's first Chief Photographer, a post he held until his death in 1964. "Goldie," as he was affectionately known by all was one of the most popular news photographers in the East.
