Short Cuts Cinema screens Albert Nobbs (Rodrigo García, 2011) on Wednesday 7th November at 7.30pm in the Studio Theatre.
Albert Nobbs tells the story of a young impoverished British girl who made a radical decision to masquerade as a man to ensure her survival in late 19th century Ireland, at a time when women weren't encouraged to be independent. Posing as a man, so she can work as a butler in Dublin's most posh hotel, Albert meets a handsome painter and looks to escape the lie she has been living.
Nominated for 3 Academy Awards and starring Glenn Close
