AMC Quail Springs IMAX Theater Grand Opening to Benefit Troops! December 18, 2009

On Friday, December 18 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, come celebrate the Grand Opening of Oklahoma City’s first IMAX Theater, the AMC Quail Springs IMAX, with the Blue Star Mothers of America, and help support our troops! Blue Star Mothers of America are a non-partisan, non-profit organization that helps to bring a little bit of home to our service men and women stationed all over the world. Blue Star Mothers are mothers of military personnel that have served or are currently serving our country.

Bring a donated item to the AMC Quail Springs IMAX Grand Opening celebration and you will be able to register to win one of the following prizes:

• A BluRay player with two James Cameron films on BluRay disc
• A DVD collection of James Cameron movies, including True Lies, Terminator, Terminator 2, ALIENS, Titanic and The Abyss
• The IMAX Ultimate Collection 20 Disc DVD Box Set, which features IMAX films such as Blue Planet, NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience, T-Rex: Back to the Cretaceous and many other IMAX favorites.

Blue Star Mothers of America will be on-hand to collect all donated items, which will be sent in care packages to our troops overseas.

Suggested donations include:
• Individually wrapped food items such as pop tarts, pudding cups, pouch drink mixes, beef jerky, etc.
• Prepaid phone cards
• Socks
• Travel-size personal hygiene products
• Gum and candy
• Small toys
• DVDs

AMC Quail Springs IMAX will celebrate their official Grand Opening with the world’s most immersive cinematic experience, director James Cameron’s AVATAR: AN IMAX 3D EXPERIENCE. Enjoy the film on IMAX’s digital projection system which combines crystal-clear images, powerful digital sound and customized theater geometry—giving you the sensation that you are IN the movie.

Please join us from 6 – 8 PM, Friday, December 18, in the food court level of Quail Springs Mall, directly in front of the AMC Quail Springs box office. Bring your camera to take a picture with an AVATAR Na'vi Warrior! AVATAR Na’vi warriors will also be on-hand to distribute IMAX and AVATAR promotion items. Kids will be able to sit down at the AVATAR IMAX TABLE to make their own free Na’vi warrior necklace or bracelet.
