An Evening with Kirk Whalum October 31, 2010

The Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church and American Baptist College sponsor the first annual "Shaft of Light" awards banquet. Three nationally-recognized social justice advocates---Dr. Julius Scruggs (President, National Baptist Convention, USA), Cal Turner, Jr. (Philanthropist and former Dollar General Corporation CEO), and A. Louise McClellan (Executive Director,Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Community Development Corporation)---are award recipients. Jazz saxaphonist Kirk Whalum is the featured entertainer for the "black tie" event.
