Ankeny Dog Park Open House June 18, 2011

Metro area dog lovers and their furry friends are invited to an Open House at the Ankeny Dog Park on Saturday, June 18 from 9:00 AM to Noon. The park is located at the corner of SW Goodwin and South Ankeny Road.

This free event will give the public an opportunity to see everything the park has to offer. The 7.5 acre park features a half-acre pond, separate small and large dog areas and open green space for your dog to run. Dog passes are not required for this event, but dogs must be socialized and current on vaccinations.

Representatives from the Dog Park, Canine Craze Performance Center and Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital will be on hand to answer health, behavior and training questions. Information about City pet licenses, Dog Park passes, rules, tips and canine behavior will also be available.

Pawsitively Pampered will offer $10 nail trims with proceeds benefiting the Dog Park, and Brown Dog Bakery will provide complimentary dog treats. One lucky guest will win a $25 Ankeny Parks & Recreation gift certificate toward a Dog Park pass!
