Annapolis Maritime Museum invites all current and prospective volunteers to gather for a celebration of this past year’s achievements and a preview of the year ahead at the Volunteer Open House on Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This past year, more than 200 volunteers donated more than 4,000 hours of service to the community. This year, the Museum needs volunteers to expand its innovative environmental education program, conduct tours to the historic Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, restore wooden boats, interpret the Museum’s exhibits to the public, and help with the winter seminar series, the summer concert series (featuring performers such as Calico Jack and the Pyrates Royale,) and lend a helping hand to events like the Annapolis Oyster Roast in March and the Boatyard Beach Bash in September.
Potential volunteers can enjoy refreshments and beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay as they learn more about these and other opportunities to have fun while doing good.
