Oceanside’s Star Theatre features real life father and daughter as star of Annie!
Oceanside – The Historic Star Theatre in downtown Oceanside will once again present Annie, December 16th – 19th, 2010. This year the roles of Daddy Warbucks and Orphan Annie will be played b y real life father and daughter, Taylor and Ashley Bassett. The timeless tale of Little Orphan Annie is giving a whole new generation the chance to experience this classic musical about never giving up hope. Boasting one of Broadway’s most memorable scores, including “It’s the Hard-Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “N.Y.C.” and the ever-optimistic “Tomorrow,” Annie is a delightful theatrical experience for the entire family. Many local families participate in the Star’s Annual production including the Bassett family who will have all eight family members in the show for the third year in a row plus their dog playing “Sandy.”

The Thursday night show will offer discount tickets to those who bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to a local charity. The Star will also be hosting a pre-show Wine, Food and Silent Auction Gala at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday (cost is extra for this event).
