12th ANNUAL AQUAPHOR NEW YORK CITY TRIATHLON
5-Mile Doggie Dash Returns for 5th Year
Come cheer on 3,000 athletes as they take the plunge into the Hudson River along Manhattan’s West Side in Riverside Park (at West 99th Street) for the 12th Annual Aquaphor New York City Triathlon on Sunday, July 8, starting at 5:50 AM. Pedestrians can enter Riverside Park at 97th Street & Riverside Drive.
The triathlon is comprised of three legs – a 1.5 kilometer (.9321 miles) swim, a 40 kilometer (24.85 miles) bike ride and a 10 kilometer (6.2 miles) run. After viewing the first leg in the water, fans are encouraged to gather near the finish in Central Park. Pedestrians can enter park at East 72nd Street and 5th Avenue or West 72nd Street and Central Park West. They can also gather along West 72nd Street to watch runners enter Central Park.
Returning for the fifth year, the Triathlon will host the Animal Medical Center 5-Mile Doggy Dash with dogs and their humans vying to be the first one to cross the finish line in Central Park to win the coveted red fire hydrant.

WHERE TO WATCH THE DOGGY DASH:
5 -Mile Run: Race for dogs and their owners starts just off the 72nd Transverse in Central Park west of Cherry Hill. Finish is same as main race -- Dead Road, west of Bandshell, just off the 72nd Street Transverse in Central Park.
Beginning of Run: 7:30 AM
End of Run: 8:30 AM (First Finisher: 8:05 AM )
