Arlington Midwest: The Human Cost of War, Iraq - Year 5! will be displayed Tuesday thru Saturday, March 18- 22, Lucas County Courthouse, Toledo Ohio.

This traveling exhibit, meant to show the human cost of war and to honor the fallen U.S. service members of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Arlington Midwest includes a simulated tombstone with name, rank, age and home state for each fallen U.S. service member.

The display has grown to close to 5,000 tombstones, a tombstone for each member of the US military killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. It also includes tombstones for the growing number of veterans who survived their service, only to come home and commit suicide. Additionally, the display includes the names of over 3,000 Iraqi citizens.

In a manner similar to permanent war
memorials is a place to
mourn, reflect, contemplate, grieve, meditate
and to honor and acknowledge
those who've lost their lives
and to reflect on the costs of war.

Also is intended to draw public attention to,
and to open a discourse on the subject of
both military and civilian deaths
during the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
