Margarita Vartanyan - the winemaker, learned winemaking skills in Armenia and it would give her great pleasure to introduce you to Armenian wines. Armenia and winemaking have a long shared history. Archaeologists say they have found the world's oldest known winery in a cave in Armenia, indicating that humans were distilling grapes during the Copper Age, more than 6,000 years ago. During the Armenian Wines event, you will be delighted to taste: Red Areni wine, made from the most famous Armenian red grape – Areni; Pomegranate wine; and several White blends- all come bottled in clay bottles. There are only few bottles, that came long way from Armenia to Bellingham, and the tasting of Armenian wines will be while the wines last.
Tasting fee is $5 per person and is waived with the purchase of wine per person. Wine club members are free. Reservations are not required.
