This is the first ever ATC event in Tucson. Artist Trading Cards are 2 ½ x 3 ½ inch (64 x 89 mm) miniature works of art, usually made on a base of cardstock, which artists trade with one another, similar to the way people trade sports cards. Artists trade their cards in face-to-face trading sessions as well as via mail.
There are only a few true rules for Artist Trading Cards:
The dimensions of the card must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches (64 x 89 mm).
The cards must be traded - never bought or sold.
The artist of the card should put their name and contact information on the back so other artists can get to know them and their work.
A good website to find out more about them and see examples: http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html
This event is open to anyone, adults, children and youth alike. Trading will happen between all ages and all skill levels. Remember, everyone is an artist, even if all you can do is glue some paper to a card!
During this first event we will be trading and there will be some supplies to make cards also. If you come, try to have some cards made already, but if you don't have them, you can make some there.
