Auditions - Third January 12, 2010

"LAURIE" - college professor, 40s-60s, "EMILY" - Laurie's daughter, college age; "JACK" - Laurie's father, has dementia, 60s-80s; "NANCY" - college professor, friend of Laurie's, age open; "THIRD" - college student, college age. SETTING - New England college, Academic year 2002-2003 "Laurie" a brilliant, feminist, intellectual begins to question the things she has passionately believed in when she finds herself pit against an equally brilliant, conservative, male, college student. When she accuses him of plagiarizing a paper on KING LEAR, "Third" fights back, at her and the system. Through opposing viewpoints, Laurie is confronted with the realities of the time she lives in. The personal insight she discovers through self-questioning, and the loved ones who surround her, will help to take her into the "third" part of her life's journey.
