Albuquerque author Loretta Hall kicks off this weekly series. She is the author of Out of this World: New Mexico's Contributions to Space Travel, which was named Best New Mexico Book in the 2011 New Mexico Book Awards and took first place in the New Mexico Press Women's 2012 Communications Contest. Loretta is a Space Ambassador for the National Space Society.

She is also the author of Underground Buildings: More than Meets the Eye, a beautifully illustrated guide to modern earth-sheltered buildings in the United States. She is certified as a Green Building Technical Professional.
