ARIZONA DERBY DAMES SEASON TWO OPENER, TWO GAMES IN ONE NIGHT!

Saturday March 24th at the Castle Sports Club

Phoenix, AZ (February 27). They are back and are as rowdy as ever, the Arizona Derby Dames, the state's newest and fastest growing all-girl Roller Derby League begin their second season with a spectacular double-header. First up the newest team on the League, the Schoolyard Scrappers will pull-up their socks and shorten their skirts in order to debut themselves against the dreaded Coffin Draggers. After the blood is cleared off the rink, the Bombshells will take on last season's champions, the Brutal Beauties in a climatic second game. Two full games of Roller Derby in one night!

The Castle Sports Club is located at 11420 North 19th Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85029-3604 (602-331-2582). Doors will open at 6.00 p.m. with the bout starting at 7.00 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased for $8 at the following locations: Bookmans, Cage World, My Ruka's Garage, Eastside Records, Curio, DentBob, DISS, Mama Java's Caf.., Karsh's Bakery and the Castle Sports Club. Tickets will be $10 the night of the bout. EMT's receive free admission as well as children under 12.

On March 24th the award winners will do their best to live up to their newly crowned titles. In the first game the "Penalty Queen" Chuck Berrings will skate her first game with the Schoolyard Scrappers. This former Bombshell is sure to square off against the "MVP" Suzy Homewrecker who will be leading her Coffin Draggers in game one of the night. Then make way for the League's "Hardest Hitter" Jugger Naughty of the Bombshells, who has her eye on the prize and will target the "Most Feared" player Red Rocker of the Brutal Beauties. When these ladies collide the crowd is sure to go wild, especially when Red Rocker does her specialty "humping" move! Entertaining at half time will be rockers the "Green Lady Killers" whose addictive riffs are sure to keep everyone excited.

Veteran roller girls Suzy Homewrecker, Joan Threat, All The Way Mae and Prima Donna started the Arizona Derby Dames league in the summer of 2005. These four dames wanted a new all-girl league to take over the world on roller skates. "Some girls are experienced skaters and have skated with other all-girl leagues; some are brand new to the game but now have excellent skills and are ready to compete. Either way it is going to be one hell of a good time." according to Homewrecker.

To add to the festivities concessions will be available, and AZ Derby Dames merchandise featuring logos and images of your favorite teams and skaters will be on sale. Raffles will be held for derby goodie bags. This will be a family event. Don't miss the party. And after the game follow the Dames to their official Party venue, Hazelwood's First Place Bar and Grill, on Indian School just east of 36th Street.

The Arizona Derby Dames will be baking and displaying their goods at their monthly First Friday Bake sale Friday March 2nd in front of Bikini Lounge on Grand Avenue, at 15th Ave and also on Roosevelt Row. This month the Brutal Beauties will be running the show with an exquisite selection of muffins, brownies and delights that will tempt anyone off their diet!
