Ballet Fantastique Presents: Danse en Rouge February 7, 2009

Ballet Fantastique's critically-acclaimed chamber company evokes the color red in all of its passion, pathos, and poetry. This one-night-only concert features the dancers in show-stopping encore collaborations with the world-renowned Trio Voronezh and classical guitarist John Jarvie; fiery Spanish ballet and passionate new tango. Paintings from some of the Northwest's most acclaimed visual artists set the scene, set to songs Besame Mucho, New York Tango, Red Violin, La Soledad, Don Quixote, Paquita, Russian Ragtime, and more.

The Karin Clarke Gallery is also hosting a post-concert reception titled Nuit en Rouge immediately following the performance. Art lovers will get the opportunity to meet and mingle with the dancers and directors of Ballet Fantastique, the members of the Trio Voronezh and John Jarvie, as well as view the featured art work up close. The elegant reception will feature delectable Northwest wine, hors doeuvres, and dessert. It is open to the public, but requires an additional ticket.
