BORDENTOWN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER INVITES YOU TO “BE OUR GUEST”!

Bordentown CDA’s Summer Youth Theatre is proud to present the musical Beauty and the Beast Jr. on Friday, July 31st at 7:30PM and Saturday, August 1st at 2:00PM at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center. This family-friendly production stars seventy-three young actors between the ages of eight and fourteen from Bordentown, Fieldsboro, Trenton, Yardville, Cookstown, Chesterfield, and New Egypt, and is the perfect entertainment for a summer night out.

This “tale as old as time” stars thirteen-year-old Simone Parrish as the brainy and beautiful Belle, a young woman who yearns to escape her provincial life…and her brute of a suitor, Gaston (played by Matthew Dalton). However, Belle gets more adventure than she wanted when she becomes a captive in a Beast’s (Taylor Stoeckel) enchanted castle! Dancing flatware, menacing wolves, and singing furniture fill the stage with thrills in this beloved fairytale about very different people finding strength in one another and learning to love.

Based on the classic Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast Jr., captures the imagination of both young and old. With a book by Linda Woolverton, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and music by Alan Menken, this entertaining musical promises fun for audiences of all ages.

Performances of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. will be held on Friday, July 31st at 7:30PM and Saturday, August 1st at 2:00PM at the Bordentown Performing Arts Center, located at 318 Ward Avenue in Bordentown, NJ. Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for seniors and children, and can be purchased on the BPAC website as well as at the door.

Beauty and the Beast Jr. is from MTI's Broadway Junior Collection, which includes some of Broadway's best-loved musicals that have been specially adapted for young performers-abridged, with music transposed into keys appropriate for young voices.
