Beginning Rumba Workshop May 2, 2009

Partner not required, but very welcomed. Taught by professional instructor, Brit Anders. Brit holds awards for teaching excellence from both Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire Dance Studios and placed High Honors in DIVIDA. With over 25 years specializing in teaching beginners and intermediates to dance, Brit has the experience to make the lessons fun and informative.

Rumba is the dance of romance. Known as the Latin Wedding Waltz, it is a dance characterized by the rhythmical and relaxed swaying of the hips combined with an intense passion for the Dance. The passionate attribute of the Rumba was spot-lighted in the recent movie, "Shall We Dance" with stars, Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. It was described as "The vertical expression of a horizontal desire." Brit will be teaching a social style that is easier than the competition style.
