Join us for wonderful music at the Aria Recital Evening on Saturday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Clare and Josef Meier Recital Hall at Black Hills State University.
Singers from across the United States and Canada will sing a wide variety of opera arias. The singers, many of whom are graduate students at major music schools, are participants in the Johanna Meier Opera Theater Institute and will present this concert. There is no charge to attend, but scholarship donations are appreciated.
New this year, is the addition of Thomas Bagwell as the coach and accompanist for the program. Bagwell's appearances as an accompanist have taken him to such venues as Carnegie Hall, London's Wigmore Hall, the Musikverein, the Concertgebouw, and numerous concerts across the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Japan. He was an assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera for nine seasons, and has also served in that capacity at the Washington National Opera, Santa Fe Opera and Opera Theatre of St. Louis. He is currently on the faculty of Mannes College of Music in New York.
Come and enjoy a wonderful performance!
