The Gig Strikes Back!
Birmingham Rocks 2006 launches with 100 shows
Live music is set to break out like a rash across this city throughout this autumn and winter, when Birmingham Rocks 2006 gets underway this month, running through to the end of the year.
Birmingham Rocks 2006 will showcase 100 performances over 90 days in 19 venues with the vast majority of performances free to the public.
Organised by Big Bear Music of Edgbaston, Birmingham Rocks 2006 was born out of the need for live music venues in Birmingham. So Big Bear music decided to;
• Persuade venues not associated with live music to put on gigs
• Have no barriers in musical styles
• Arrange for free admission whenever possible, just turn up at the door
• Show it is not difficult to arrange live gigs
• Present GREAT MUSIC!
Musical Styles in Birmingham Rocks include rock, blues, electro, indie, jazz, punk, nu metal, rhythm & blues, swing and manouche.
Big Bear music is delighted to work with existing venue owners, along with club owners putting on gigs for the first time, who are as enthusiastic about live music as themselves. Big Bear Music are very excited about all of its upcoming concerts involving the most talented and creative musicians in the area. Some of the events are taking place at The Living Room; Brindley Place; Madhouse Rehearsal Studio; The Bulls Head; Spotted Dog; Scruffy Murphy’s; The Rope Walk and The Irish Club.
