BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - Book Divas, the leading online book club for young adults and welcomes Hobson Brown, Taylor Materne and Caroline Says, authors of the YA novel The Upper Class, to the site to for a week-long virtual author visit on July 23 through July 30. This will be the trios' first author visit to the online community and marks the first time Book Divas will host three authors at once. Book Divas members will be able to interact directly with the authors and ask questions on the featured novel, which will be released by HarperCollins on September 1, 2007.
Author Visits are the signature feature of Book Divas, which has been online since 2002. The community relaunched in 2007 and is growing at a rate of over 30% each month. HarperCollins has signed on for three additional Author Visits for 2007. Ten percent of the proceeds from all author visits go towards Book Divas' own 'Writing Star' scholarship fund, which was created by Book Diva CEO, Leah Messina. The scholarship fund will assist in sending one high school senior with the intent in majoring in Writing or English to college in the fall of 2008.
The Upper Class is a novel based around two girls, Laine Hunt and Nikki Olivetti, whom have nothing in common besides being the new girls at an elite Boarding School called Wellington. Based on the authors own experience at a Connecticut boarding school, the book has already built up significant buzz among readers and reviewers alike.
