LOCAL RUN, BUDDY’S RESCUE LADDER, TO BENEFIT RICHMOND ANIMAL LEAGUE
(RICHMOND, VA) – The 1st Annual Buddy’s Rescue Ladder – a race event benefiting the Richmond Animal League (RAL) - will be held at Midlothian Middle School on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 5:00pm. RunnerBill’s Sports, a Midlothian sports shop, will be sponsoring the event. The run is named in honor of owner Bill Lis’s own adopted RAL dog – Buddy.
Buddy’s Rescue Ladder is a unique combination of a cross-country style start and a track-distance-medley run. Participants will compete at four distances (400, 800, 1200 and 1600 meters). Finishers will be able to see their finish time on a clock as they cross the finish line and they will be given a finish place card. They will receive points for their finish-place. The person(s) with the lowest combined points (for all four distances) wins.
You can register for the race in person at RunnerBill’s Sports or Richmond Animal League. You may also register online at www.active.com through July 10, 2009. Entry fees are $25 if made before the pre-registration deadline of June 15, 2009. Afterwards, the entry fee is $35.00. Race Day registration will be at Midlothian Middle School from 3:30pm to 4:45pm.
There will be an After-Party at Capital Ale House in Midlothian following the event at 7:00pm. Participants and their friends and family are encouraged to join. Free appetizers will be served.
