Have you ever dreamed of starting a business, or expanding your business? That opportunity might be closer than you think, thanks to the South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO), located in Woodburn Hall on the Black Hills State University campus in Spearfish. It is a recently established organization designed to provide management and technical assistance, comprehensive training, and counseling for entrepreneurs.
As a kick-off event for the SD CEO, a Business Luncheon Seminar will be held Feb. 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Jacket Legacy Room at BHSU. The seminar is co-sponsored by Dakota Rising, an organization designed to spur South Dakota's rural economy.
During lunch, Jim Shaw, Small Business Administration (SBA) senior area manager and a former four-term mayor of Rapid City, will discuss the SBA’s available business funding programs. A question and answer session will follow.
Registration for the seminar is required with a Feb. 8 deadline. Interested parties may register online at www.BHSU.edu/SDCEO, or by emailing Chris.Coolidge@BHSU.edu, or by phone at (605) 642-6435.
