Cam-Rock Beat Back the Weeds Day June 23, 2008

Who: Anyone who loves to ride the Cam-Rock trails.
What: Clean up the trails to make the riding sweet for the summer.
Where: Meet at Cam-Rock III Parking lot.
When: Monday June 23rd at 5p, or call 608.575.2264 if you need to come at a different time and I'll steer you in the right direction. We will probably work and/or ride until dark or until you have to leave.
Why: Because the weeds are starting to take over and will eventually detract from an otherwise sweet ride.

I am heading out on vacation next weekend and gone 'til after the 4th weekend. Last year we did not get the weeds knocked back until after I got back and they had gotten out of hand by then. I want to get them under control earlier this year. They are very tall on the Expert Return section, but because of the garlic mustard the nettles have stayed at bay. Still the weeds are grabbing at the handle bars in that section, and will be in others soon if something is not done. Mowing the Connector again will keep that sweet new trail clean as well and fun to ride.

I should have people and tools enough lined up for the walk behind mower and 2 weed wackers. Others can work the loppers to clear low-hanging branches and rake trail after trimming. I also have at least one more weed wacker available if we have the manpower to use it. I am hoping to make quick work of this in one evening as it is the only time next week I can be out there working. Again, call 608.575.2264 with any questions.
