February 8th - Main Meeting
LANDLORD BY DEFAULT
· You wanted to sell, but couldn’t.
· You moved for a new job, but couldn’t sell your home.
· You bought to Fix and Flip, but it didn’t sell.
So you are a landlord by accident of our economic downturn. The February meeting of CREIA on the 12th is a FREE meeting for non-members. This meeting will be a primer on the basics of good and productive landlording.
Multiple speakers will cover the various aspects of being a good landlord, like marketing, preparing your rental (staging), management, screening tenants, leases, and the financial implications.
We’d like to help those of you who have found themselves in the fallback position, make the most of what may be seen as less than positive. In fact, the longer you rent out a property, the more your wealth grows. Some may even decide to stay as landlords. Done well, tenants are your route to independence. Come learn the basics of the landlording (rent property provider) craft.
Our Hot Seat (techniques portion of the program) will feature another aspect to ‘Green’ buildings. The subject is reducing VOC’s or volatile chemicals in a residential property. Jennifer Woodruff, owner of “Build It Naturally” will speak.
Meeting is held at AB-Tech's Enka Campus at 6:00 p.m. - 2nd floor, Hayes Building
