Celebrate Tom Tipton Sing for Joy June 12, 2008

Nationally acclaimed musical artist and minister, Tom Tipton is celebrating his 75th birthday and 50 years in music. His music career and ministry spans more than four decades with performances as a guest soloist for Chuck Colson Prison Fellowship and Billy Graham Washington D.C. Crusade as well as 25 years as a soloist for Robert Schuller’s Hour of Power ministry. He has performed at countless high-profile events such as the National Baseball Hall of Fame Weekend, Humphrey Dinner with keynote speaker Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton, National Baptist Convention and multiple crusades. He has been the guest soloist for the Kirby Puckett memorial service, funeral services for Justice Harry Blackmun and Hubert and Muriel Humphrey. He has also performed for past presidents Carter, Reagan and Bush and vice presidents Humphrey and Mondale.

Though Tom enjoys performing, he feels called by God to use his gift to minister to people in nursing homes, hospitals and assisted living facilities. He has spent the past two years visiting many care facilities sharing his gift of music and testimony, accepting only free-will offerings as payment.
