Sponsored by the COLUMBUS FOLK MUSIC SOCIETY, INC., & Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, this festival is always held on the first full weekend of May and is held at the Battelle-Darby Creek Metro Park. The Festival usually features 30 or more mini-concerts and teaching workshops, with a main-stage concert in the evening. The workshops are for various traditional instruments, music & other folk arts. All activities are free, except for classes & the Saturday evening concert. Primarily a teaching festival which is always on the first full weekend, including Friday, in May. The instruments, music & skills taught are traditional. There will be a Friday evening pot luck supper, with jamming and a “Worst Song” contest. Saturday there will be 30 or so free spot light concerts, workshops, and jamming, with an evening concert featuring, Mean Mary, http://meanmary.com/. Sunday there will be more workshops, free spot light concerts, etc.
