Sir William Keith, the 14th governor of Pennsylvania, was instrumental in the introduction of paper money and credit. Learn about his contributions to the 18th century monetary system and how we got where we are today from Dr. Bruce Rader, a professor of finance at the Fox School of Business at Temple University in Philadelphia. After the lecture visitors will watch a debate between Sir William Keith and James Logan, who opposed Keith's policies, and can tour the rest of the National Historic Landmark Keith House at Graeme Park.

Charter Day is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission in honor of the granting of the Pennsylvania Charter to William Penn. On this day all PHMC administered sites are open for free tours and programs. The lecture is being held at 11 am and 2 pm with the debates and tours going on through the rest of the day.
