ChathamArts Gallery celebrates “Form and Color” at upcoming Exhibit Opening Gala on December 2

PITTSBORO – Throughout December and January ChathamArts Gallery will feature the work of fiber artists Lyn Sims and Jane Palkoski as well as the vibrant acrylic paintings of Marrianna Osolin-Putnam and the sensuous woodwork of Doug Trimble. The artists will unveil their work at the opening Gala at ChathamArts Gallery, Thursday, December 2, 5:30 – 7:00 pm.

Lyn Sims expresses herself through color, texture and design. She elevates the traditional “women’s work” of knitting by making “beautiful garments from fine materials that serve the functional needs of those for whom we knit”.

Jane Palkoski has refined her work from the interior design of corporate aircraft to the blending of beads and fiber to turn unique mixtures of colors and textures into jewelry and knitted accessories.

Marrianna Osolin-Putnam has taken her extensive background in travel and recreated vibrant scenes from Europe and the American southwest in bold strokes of color.

Doug Trimble takes the fluid lines of wood that Nature has provided and using woods from around the world creates pieces that are functional yet full of movement.

ChathamArts Gallery provides a year round home to fifty North Carolina artists with the work of featured artists being displayed for 2 month exhibitions. The Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday 11-5 pm in historic downtown Pittsboro. 115 Hillsboro Street. 919-542-4144. www.chathamarts.org .
