Chejere and Sonex combine the Son Jarocho and the Son Huasteco - two of Mexico's most distinctive regional styles of music - with contemporary Afro-Latin, hip-hop, funk and electronic sounds. The results are vibrant arrangements that resonate as much with Mexicans as they do with people all over the world! Both traditional regional rhythms derive from a mix of indigenous and imported - Spanish, Arabic, African and Caribbean - musical legacies that reflect Mexico's rich cultural and ethnic diversity.
