Why does that bird have a funny shaped bill? Why are birds light enough to fly? What is keratin? Ever wonder how cardinals crack a sunflower seed or how ducks filter water? Come join us as we explore the remarkable adaptations of birds. - - The Chickadee Birders Club at Drumlin Farm is for children ages 7-11 who have an interest in birds and want to learn more. We will introduce the basics of birding, bird life, and seasonal migration through talks, activities, and field trips. Birding is a lifelong skill that can lead to greater overall interest in the outdoors and the environment; it's never too early to get started learning the birding basics. Children are welcome to come to the club meetings alone, or to bring one adult with them. For more information about the Chickadee Birders' Club please contact Becky Gilles at bgilles@massaudubon.org or 781-259-2223. Registration is required. Call 781-259-2200 for details.
