Citizens for 911 Community Meeting July 31, 2009

The meeting will be about joining forces to educate the public on the need for the upcoming election and how we might collectively spread the word. You may already know that 55% of the 9-1-1 calls received in our area today are coming in from wireless phones. But, did you know that the dispatchers who answer those wireless calls have no idea WHERE the caller is? Further, even though landline phones may list the exact location, our county has so many duplicate road names and new development that the responders still dodn't know for sure how to find the address. There are many other facts about our current situation that are cause for great alarm, so please come to the meeting to learn more and be equipped to "tell the story" to those in your circle of influence.
