The Clodbuster Base Ball Club of Dayton has been challendged to two matches by the Cincinnati Buckeyes and upstart Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers of Tipp City. The clubs will play a round robin of matches using the rules of 1860. Balls caught in the air or on one bound will put out the striker. Fielders, including the catcher, do not wear gloves. It is a contest of hitting versus fielding as the pitcher is responsible for simply putting the ball in play. The matches are competitve, but the clubs' primary goals are educating and entertaining the crowds!
A total of three matches will be played on the day, with the two visiting clubs meeting at 3:30 pm.
This event is free.
