Looking for a late-night entertainment offering? ComedySportz, Houston’s longest running improv comedy show, will present an original production in April, 2010, incorporating short-form improvisation, long-form improvisation and sketch comedy.
The concept and sketches were developed by ComedySportz players Scott White (also an acclaimed stand-up comedian), Chad Minchew and Will Fordyce, who will also co-direct the show. ““Television is Good for You” is based on a group of fictitious television producers attempting to get their television show on the air.” White says. “Of course, most of the content will be improvised from audience suggestions. Written sketches will be interspersed throughout the show as well. “ The audience will act as assistant directors during the show, offering up suggestions of all types throughout the improvised sections.
Performances of Television is Good for You! begin on Saturday, April 3rd at 10:30pm and continue every Saturday evening through April 24th, at the ComedySportz Arena, 901 Town & Country Blvd. (southeast corner of I-10 west and the Beltway).
Though performers from ComedySportz will be performing Television is Good for You!, they will be doing so without the ComedySportz referee or the Brown Bag Foul. For this reason, Television is Good for You is appropriate only for those who are 17 and older.
Tickets for Television is Good for You! are $12. Reservations are suggested and may be obtained by calling 713-868-1444 or online at www.comedysportzhouston.com.
If you’re looking for a show that is appropriate for all ages, regular ComedySportz matches are held every Friday and Saturday at 8pm.
