Works by Bach, Beethoven, and Bernstein will be performed by the Central Jersey Choral Society at 3:00 PM on Saturday January 15th, at St. David's Episcopal Church, 90 S. Main St., Cranbury, NJ.
The program will include Bach's Cantata 140, Beethoven's Mass in C, and Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms.
“The works of these great masters transcend time, language, culture and religion, says Artistic Director Christopher Loeffler. “Music can transcend differences in language and culture, providing a common voice for all people to express and share thoughts and feelings. Our commitment to this fundamental ideal is expressed in our performances and our mission to bring professional quality musical performance to the community by helping members of the community become professional quality vocal artists. “
The Central Jersey Choral Society (formerly known as the Greater Trenton Choral Society) has been providing quality choral music for over 60 years.  Both professional and community vocalists find a common voice with CJCS through music shared with their audiences. The CJCS repertoire encompasses the great classical works, including familiar favorites and lesser-known gems. Its stated mission is “To provide professional quality classical music to the local community; to enrich the lives of choral society members and audiences by performing a varied selection of high quality music, and to provide opportunities for local professional, community and student soloists and musicians to perform, gain experience, and expand their repertoire.
These programs are made possible in part by the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission through funding from the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment of the Arts.
