The goal of the museum is to have the best collection in the world of modern Iroquois creativity -- fine arts, traditional and modern crafts, photography and multi-media. It grows through acquisitions and gifts from the public, including Iroquois artists and collectors. The museum's contemporary collection begins in the 1960s and extends to the present.

I discovered Kayhan Kalhor through his collaborations with Indian sitarist Shuajaat Hussain Khan. I was privileged to see him perform with the Masters of Persian Music at GWU Lisner Auditorium. I look forward to this fusion of Persian and Turkish music.

Virtuousity, but no musicality. The improvisations meandered, without any structure. The artists were perfunctory in acknowledging the audience. It would have helped if Kalhor had provided some commentary - he speaks excellent English. Many of us were mystified when the performance ended after 70 minutes - we had expected an intermission. A disappointment.
