Contra Dance Party December 13, 2008

Last Gaspe plays and Steve Pike calls, 8pm-11pm. Admission $6. Bring friends. Contra dances are similar to the Virginia Reel and other social dances many learned in elementary school. Admission covers hall rental and pay musicians. Dances are taught and walked-through before music starts. Partners are not required. No experience is necessary. An introductory lesson is often offered a half hour before a dance. Easier dances are introduced early in the evening. You will be able to step right in and dance. Each of the dozen or so dances each evening is taught and called. Bring indoor shoes with clean soles to preserve the beautiful wooden dance floor.
