Youthful pretensions of love and fidelity are skewered in Mozart's comic masterpiece. On a bet, the cynical Don Alfonso attempts to disillusion two rather shallow young men on the nature of their fiances' true love. Each agrees to follow Alfonso's instructions, and in disguise, they must do their best to seduce the other's fiance. Through vivid arias, duets, hilarious ensembles and finales, Mozart masterfully depicts the ensuing comic and competitive romancing. Will anyone remain faithful?
