CPR and Circulation: Healthcare Provider Course July 21, 2011

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the anatomy and function of the circulatory system;
- List the different causes of cardiac arrest;
- Describe the components of CPR;
- Describe the cardiac Chain of Survival;
- Determine when to start and stop CPR;
- Describe the technique of external cardiac compression in adult, infant
and child;
- Discuss the legal implications of CPR.

Physicians Accreditation and Certification: Coastal Care Medical Management is accredited by
the Rhode Island Medical Society to sponsor intrastate continuing medical education for physicians.
Coastal Care Medical Management designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA
PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of
their participation in the activity.
This course is designed for the professional health-care provider whose job responsibilities require that they respond in an
emergency. Extensive time will be spent on warning signs of life threatening emergencies where skilled professionals have
access to advanced equipment. A 2 Year Certification (American Heart Association) is awarded upon completion of this course.
There is a written/practical exam which you will be expected to complete. Coastal Care Medical Management fully intends to
