Two Legislative Crackerbarrels are scheduled to be held at Black Hills State University during the 2010 Legislative session.
Crackerbarrels will be Saturday, Jan. 23 and Saturday, March 6 at 9 a.m. in the David B. Miller Yellow Jacket Student Union Jacket Legacy Room. District 31 Legislators Rep. Fred Romkema, R-Spearfish; Sen. Tom Nelson, R-Lead; and Rep. Charles Turbiville, R-Deadwood have been invited to attend and participate in the discussion.
Crackerbarrels are held to afford the public the opportunity to visit with local legislators and become more informed on political issues facing the state. Following the opening remarks by each legislator, the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments on legislative issues. The Spearfish crackerbarrels are hosted by the Spearfish Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee and Black Hills State University. Area residents are encouraged to attend.
For more information call the Spearfish Chamber of Commerce at 642-3832. There is also a crackerbarrel scheduled in Deadwood, Feb. 13.
